Duties and Responsibilities

Oversee Maintenance Operations

Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance technicians to ensure all equipment, machinery, and systems (e.g.,conveyor and packaging machine) are operational and meet production demands.

Preventive Maintenance

Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and extend machinery lifespan, ensuring compliance with manufacturer specification.

Troubleshooting and Repairs

Diagnose equipment malfunctions, coordinate timely repairs, and perform or oversee corrective actions to maintain production efficiency.

Ensure Food Safety Compliance

Enforce adherence to FDA, HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, ensuring maintenance activities meet strict sanitation and food safety regulations.

Team Management

Train, and evaluate maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and technical proficiency. Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure quality work.

Coordinate with Other Department

Collaborate with production, quality assurance to align maintenance activities with production schedules and quality standards

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA and other safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits and training to minimize workplace hazards.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce energy consumption, and enhance operational efficiency, often implementing new technologies or processes.

Emergency Response

Respond to equipment breakdowns of facility issues outside regular hours, ensuring rapid resolution to avoid production delays

Documentation and Reporting

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance reports, providing data for audits and management reviews

QUALIFICATION

Preferred: Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering

3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food manufacturing or a similar regulated industry.

1-2 years in supervisory or leadership role managing a team of technicians.
