About the Role

ARC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Power Generation Engineer to support the operation and maintenance of hybrid microgrid powerplants across Palawan, Cebu, and Quezon. This role ensures the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our power generation assets, solar PV systems, battery energy storage (BESS), and diesel generators, serving off-grid communities.

You will work closely with Plant Officers and technical teams, oversee system performance, support troubleshooting activities, and contribute to improving grid and generation reliability across multiple sites.


Key Responsibilities

Construction Phase (First 6–9 months)

  • Support daily civil and electrical construction activities for hybrid microgrids.
  • Assist in site inspections and quality checks for materials and workmanship.
  • Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with plans, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Help resolve construction and design issues, including documentation of changes.
  • Enforce safety, environmental, and regulatory protocols (OHSA, DENR, LGU).
  • Prepare progress reports and maintain site records.

Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

  • Monitor the performance of solar PV, inverters, BESS, diesel generators, and related systems.
  • Analyze plant data (irradiance, performance ratio, battery cycling, fuel use, inverter performance) to identify improvements.
  • Plan and manage preventive and corrective maintenance across multiple sites.
  • Coordinate manpower, tools, spares, and inventories for efficient O&M activities.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support during critical maintenance or emergency situations.
  • Troubleshoot abnormal system behavior, equipment faults, and generator issues to maintain 24/7 power supply.
  • Work with grid engineers during system events, load issues, and restoration procedures.
  • Ensure all environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements (DENR, DOE, ERC, NPC, LGU) are met.
  • Maintain centralized logs, maintenance records, and performance dashboards.
  • Recommend process and operational improvements using data and analytics.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems.
  • PRC Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in power generation system operations, coordination, or management.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and relevant digital/AI tools.
  • Knowledge of Philippine and international electrical standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.

Other Requirements

  • Willing to travel frequently for site assignments.
  • Valid motorcycle or car driver's license preferred.
  • Must be able to provide on-call support and respond promptly during operational emergencies.
