What is the job?

The Accounting Associate 1 is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and experience in accounts payable processes. The associate will handle AP entries, reconcile invoices and statements, and respond to inquiries from vendors and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Record and process accounts payable transactions accurately in the accounting system
  • Verify invoice details, including amounts, terms, and payment instructions, prior to entry
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and payment authorization procedures
  • Handle customer inquiries regarding invoice discrepancies, payment status, and account balances
  • Reconcile invoices and statements regularly to maintain accurate and complete records
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders, and payment records

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Accounts Payable
  • Knowledgeable in AP processes, including entries, invoice reconciliation, and statement reviews
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel for data analysis, OneNote for information management)
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for accurate processing and record-keeping
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for vendor correspondence
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and complete work reliably and efficiently
