Banquet Sales Executive

Banquet sales executive is responsible for driving revenue by selling event spaces and services to clients for corporate, MICE, and social events. Their duties include prospecting new accounts, building client relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the smooth execution of events by coordinating with various departments. Key responsibilities
- Drive sales: Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities for banquets and events, including corporate events, MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions), and social functions.
- Build client relationships: Develop and maintain strong, lasting relationships with clients to foster repeat business and positive referrals.
- Manage accounts: Oversee banquet accounts, acting as the main point of contact for clients from the initial inquiry through the event's completion.
- Negotiate contracts: Handle the negotiation of contracts and pricing for event packages.
- Coordinate events: Collaborate with other departments, such as catering and operations, to ensure all client requirements are met and that events run smoothly.
- Support sales team: Sales coordinators, a type of support staff, manage client inquiries, prepare reports, and coordinate schedules to ensure smooth sales operations.
Required skills and qualifications
- Sales and negotiation skills: Strong abilities in both selling and negotiating prices and terms are essential.
- Customer service: A customer-oriented approach is crucial for ensuring client satisfaction.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities: The ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail is necessary.
- Communication skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Hospitality experience: Previous experience in event or banquet sales, ideally in the hospitality industry, is often preferred.
- Education: A degree in hospitality management or a related field can be advantageous.
- Professional attitude: A positive and professional attitude is important for representing the company and working as part of a team.
