DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • He shall keep himself abreast with the requirements of the Authority and the latest available technology on prevention, control and abatement of pollution;
  • Recommend to the management the installation and operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities; and
  • Handle other matters of environmental concerns as required by EHS Manager.
  • To abreast with the requirements of the DENR-EMB and the latest available technology on the prevention, control and abatement of pollution; and
  • To develop and implement programs to control and minimize generation of pollution;
  • Attends the requirements of the establishment prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits and renewal thereof.
  • Monitors the activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution source and control facilities.
  • Supervises the proper operation and maintenance of pollution control facilities of the establishment.
  • Reports within reasonable to the DENR-EMB the breakdown of any pollution control facility, and the estimated and actual dates of completion/ repair and operation.
  • Promptly submits validated/ certified correct periodic reports to the DENR-EMB.
  • Attends a meeting for Pollution Control Officers which may be called by the DENR-EMB.
  • Facilitates compliance of the establishment to the requirements as prescribed by the DENR-EMB.
  • Responsible for the preparation of periodic reports and renewal of permits to DENR-EMB and other government regulatory agencies.
  • Assist EHS Manager in the promotion of environmental protection, care & sustainability in the company premises.
  • Attends & Participates in meetings as required by EHS Manager.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity with Philippine Environmental Laws and Regulations
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems
  • Knowledgeable in facilitating solid waste disposal, hazardous waste including emergency response
  • Familiarity in facilitating ambient tests, Stack Emission Test, water sampling, monitoring sewage treatment facilities, etc.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools
  • Must be a graduate BS in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Must be PCO Certified;
  • Must have at least 2 years experience in an Industrial/Manufacturing environment;
  • Must be willing to learn, keen attention to details and result-oriented;
  • Completed 40 hours Basic Occupational Safety & Health Training conducted by DOLE-OSHC.
