Job Summary
The Environmental Officer (PCO) will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, and company policies within the Project. This role involves the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of environmental management programs to promote sustainable practices, pollution control, and regulatory compliance. The position also requires close coordination with government agencies such as the DENR and CDC.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the official Pollution Control Officer (PCO) of the project site as accredited by the DENR-EMB Region III.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and Waste Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies' environmental standards, permits, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular environmental monitoring, inspections, and audits of project operations (air, water, noise, and solid waste).
- Maintain and update records, and prepare environmental reports and self-monitoring reports (SMR/CMR) for submission to relevant agencies.
- Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to environmental policies.
- Promote environmental awareness and conduct training programs for employees on pollution control and environmental protection.
- Recommend corrective and preventive measures in cases of environmental non-compliance.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities related to environmental incidents.
- Liaise with stakeholders on environmental compliance matters.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Must be a DENR-accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO).
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in environmental management, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and permitting processes (PD 1586, RA 8749, RA 9275, RA 6969, RA 9003, etc.).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and report-writing skills.
- Ability to conduct trainings, facilitate audits, and coordinate effectively with regulatory agencies.
- Willing to be assigned on-site at Clark, Pampanga.
