The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and highly skilled Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is a culinary artist with a passion for exceptional food, and a strong leader. You will be responsible for upholding and elevating our culinary standards, managing daily kitchen operations, and leading a team of dedicated chefs and cooks.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Leadership:
Oversee all kitchen operations, from food preparation to presentation, ensuring every dish meets our high standards of quality and consistency.
- Uphold and enhance One World Deli's culinary vision, ensuring the menu reflects our commitment to international, high-quality, and fresh ingredients.
- Collaborate with management on menu development, including the creation of special seasonal offerings.
- Work hands-on in the kitchen, leading by example and assisting with all aspects of food production.
Kitchen Management:
Manage and mentor the kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Implement and enforce strict food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
- Manage inventory, control costs, and minimize waste through efficient ordering and kitchen practices.
- Maintain and care for all kitchen equipment, scheduling maintenance and repairs as needed.
Team Collaboration:
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless and exceptional customer dining experience.
- Collaborate with our in-house pasta and pizza expert, and other specialty chefs, to ensure a cohesive culinary offering.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, Executive Chef, or a senior-level culinary role in a high-volume, quality-focused kitchen.
- Extensive knowledge of international cuisine, culinary techniques, and a passion for working with premium ingredients.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a kitchen staff.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A creative and innovative mindset, with a strong understanding of flavor profiles and food presentation.
- Knowledge of local and international suppliers and the ability to build and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
