Cost Engineer
based in
Makati City, Manila Philippines.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline
• 2–4 years' experience in cost engineering or commercial project support
• Experience in the EPC, infrastructure or renewable energy sector
• Familiarity with AU/NZ building standards or contracts (NZS3910, FIDIC, etc.)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost management tools (e.g. Procore, Aconex, Candy, or similar)
• Detail-oriented with good organizational and reporting skills
• Team-oriented with effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in international or remote EPC project cost engineering
• Strong English communication and reporting skills
• Proficient in Excel, Procore, and digital collaboration tools (e.g. MS Teams, SharePoint)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Cost Tracking and Control

• Assist in the development and maintenance of project budgets and cost breakdown structures.
• Track and record actual costs against budgets and prepare variance reports.
• Ensure accurate cost coding and documentation of all project-related expenditures.

Forecasting and Reporting

• Support preparation of regular cost reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders.
• Assist in producing cash flow forecasts and cost-to-complete assessments.
• Work with the Cost Manager and Finance to ensure cost reports align with financial records and forecasts.

Tender and Procurement Support

• Provide support during the tender phase with cost data and benchmark comparisons.
• Help assess subcontractor and supplier pricing and contribute to procurement evaluations.
• Track and report purchase order values, variations, and committed costs.

Change and Risk Management

• Monitor potential cost risks and assist in maintaining the project cost risk register.
• Support evaluation and documentation of design changes, scope variations, and commercial impacts.

Collaboration

• Contribute to process improvements and standardization of cost tracking tools and templates.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and support the Cost Manager in implementing improvements.

Financial management and reporting

• Responsible for ensuring that decisions are made within approved business unit budget and financial delegated authority.

Provide regular reporting to Manager on status of all work (as relevant).

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation at all times for self and your team.
• Proactively identify and eliminate hazards and contribute to the work environment to ensure safety measures are in place, compliant and operational.
• Keep yourself safe and follow all processes in the INTEC Energy Solutions H&S system, providing feedback on any improvements that can be made.

• Strong focus on identifying and suggesting ways to improve practices and processes that are hampering the smooth operation of the day to day running of the project.
• Support the development of innovative strategies to ensure operational efficiencies, processes and practices.
• Proactively seek opportunities to save unnecessary costs to the project (without compromising quality).
• Contribute to the project review process, ensuring problems identified and possible solutions developed and feedback to operations team.
