Electrical Costing Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial analyses for electrical works in engineering or construction projects. This role ensures that all electrical cost components—materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting—are accurately quantified, priced, and monitored throughout the project lifecycle.

A. Cost Estimation and Budgeting

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems (power distribution, lighting, controls, fire alarm, instrumentation, etc.) based on drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Analyze project requirements and develop itemized Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical components.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure cost competitiveness.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid proposals, tenders, and cost summaries.
  • Prepare and update cost breakdown structures (CBS) and cash flow forecasts.

B. Cost Monitoring and Control

  • Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure they remain within the approved budget.
  • Perform variance analysis between actual and budgeted costs and identify cost overruns or savings.
  • Support the project team in evaluating change orders, variations, and claims for cost impact.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and pricing records for future reference.

C. Technical and Coordination Tasks

  • Coordinate with design, procurement, and construction teams for cost-related inputs.
  • Review electrical drawings and design changes for cost implications.
  • Ensure compliance with company and project-specific cost control procedures.
  • Participate in value engineering activities to optimize cost efficiency without compromising quality or safety.
  • Prepare technical and cost reports for management and clients.

3. Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (Licensed Engineer preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years experience in electrical estimating, cost engineering, or project controls within the construction, power, or industrial sector.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and estimating software.
  • Knowledgeable in project scheduling tools.
  • Familiar with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC, or NEC standards.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, good communication, and coordination skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From Php25,000.00 per month
