Accounting & Budget Officer/Bookkeeper

The principal function of Accounting & Budget Officer/Bookkeeper is to be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing budgets, and supporting the financial operations of the organization. The Accounting & Budget Officer/Bookkeeper will work closely with management and other departments to analyze financial data, create budgets and forecasts, and provide recommendations on financial strategies.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial data and prepare reports to provide management with insights into the organization's financial performance.
- Prepare, manage and coordinate the annual budgets, ensuring that they are accurate and aligned with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
- Optimize financial functions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
- Manage all aspects of bookkeeping, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll processing and bank reconciliations ensuring that financial transactions are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Perform bank errands such as deposits, withdrawal, request for bank certificates, or submitting documents.
- Prepare vouchers and ensure accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the organization's financial needs are met and to establish and monitor spending limits and budgets.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, reports, records, including ledgers, cash flow projections daily transactions, journal entries and management reports.
- Ensure that financial statements are properly recorded and reported.
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Process and reconcile transactions related to inventory, assets, and liabilities
- Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
- Provide support during audits, including but not limited to documentation preparation and data analysis.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and changes in financial regulations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, budgeting and bookkeeping.
- Knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, and budget management.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.
- Ability to read and interpret financial statements and reports.
- Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide accurate and timely information.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with financial software and tools, such as QuickBooks or SAP.
- CPA Certification is a plus.
