The AVP for Merchandising (Home) will be responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies to drive sales, profitability, and market share for the Home category. The role involves overseeing product assortment, pricing, promotions, supplier negotiations, and inventory management to ensure alignment with business goals. The AVP will also analyze market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth. In addition, the position requires close collaboration with store operations, marketing, and supply chain teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and achieve sales targets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies for the Home category.
  • Plan and manage product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Monitor sales performance, inventory levels, and margins to optimize profitability.
  • Conduct market research to track consumer trends and competitor strategies.
  • Collaborate with operations and marketing teams for effective product launches and promotions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the merchandising team to achieve business objectives.
  • Ensure merchandising standards align with the company's brand and customer expectations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree is a plus).
  • At least 8–10 years of experience in merchandising, buying, or category management, preferably in retail (Home category experience is an advantage).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven track record in driving sales and profitability through effective merchandising strategies.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
