Your Role

As an Accountant, you are responsible for:

  • Manage end-of-month processes according to a detailed checklist, including preparing monthly financial reports, reconciliation of the accounting ledger.
  • Weekly banking reconciliation, cashflow forecast and priority supplier payment runs.
  • Manage your direct reports to deliver their work to a high standard, following approved checklists, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, End-of-Month tasks, People and Culture, Administration and Events.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between offshore and onshore team members, ensuring smooth workflow and alignment with business objectives.
  • Prepare tax lodgements, including: Quarterly Business Activity Statements and monthly Instalment Activity Statements; and working papers for our annual Fringe Benefits Tax Return, Financial Report and Income Tax Return, working with external tax accountants.
  • Assist colleagues with ad hoc financial and administration queries and reports.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for team queries, offering prompt and clear direction to maintain operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Bookkeeping or related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a similar role or in an Assistant Accountant role and ready for more.
  • Good level of proficiency and experience in Excel (including Pivot-tables and V-Lookups).
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and software
  • Ability to work within deadlines
