Role Purpose:

Reporting to Chief Strategy Officer & Director, New Businesses, this role is responsible for business development – acquiring new brands and managing existing brands in LUXASIA's portfolio/extending them to new markets, in partnership with Country Managers.

This is an exciting role at an exciting time for LUXASIA. As the company expands across the region and into different categories, the Business Development team will be a major driver of the company's future growth, by onboarding new brands and extending important brands across the region.

It is also a challenging role, requiring strong analytical and modelling skills, as well as communication and stakeholder management skills – to work closely with senior brand executives as well as internal stakeholders such as country managers of LUXASIA's various markets, Regional Managing Directors, as well as CXOs of the company.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:


• Source potential brands for adding to LUXASIA's portfolio, both independently and with support from the rest of the Strategy & Development team


• Work to manage existing brand partners, and extend our partnership with them to new markets


• Work closely with the Country Managers, Regional MDs, as well as other members of the Leadership Team to develop strategic opportunities


• Develop business plans and excel financial models to evaluate new opportunities


• Prepare regular reports of progress and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders as required including a quarterly update to the Leadership Team on business issues and progress


• Manage / work closely with other members of the BD team on larger / more strategic projects

Qualifications and Experience:


• Backgrounds considered include Business or Corporate Development, Business Consulting, FP&A


• Experience in beauty/FMCG/Retail industry preferred, with special preference for candidates who have strong knowledge of and affinity for business development, and for beauty/adjacent sectors


• Ability to work with cross-functional teams both internally (Sales & Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain) and externally to successfully implement and manage strategic partnerships


• Expertise in financial modelling and business planning


• Experience in contractual/vendor negotiation is an advantage


• Good communication skills (verbal, written and in presentations) and gravitas, to drive discussions both internally and externally with efficiency, diplomacy and finesse


• Superb attention to detail and capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously


• Highly adaptable, quick thinker who is simultaneously comfortable in both individual contributor role and wider team player role
