Senior Django Developer – Remote (Philippines)

On Demand Innovation is hiring a Senior Django Developer to lead backend development for scalable, cloud-based applications. We build high-performance software for global clients using modern microservices architectures. This is a fully remote role based in the Philippines.

Candidates must be Filipino citizens to be eligible for this remote position based in the Philippines.

What You'll Do

• Lead development of RESTful APIs with Django and Django REST Framework.

• Architect and optimize database models using Django ORM (PostgreSQL/MySQL).

• Implement backend design patterns, MVC principles, and best practices for scalable services.

• Write and enforce unit and integration tests using pytest or Django's testing framework.

• Manage caching solutions (Redis, Memcached) and background tasks with Celery.

• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on AWS (S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).

• Containerize services with Docker and guide CI/CD workflows.

• Integrate GraphQL APIs and collaborate with frontend teams (React, Vue, or Django templates).

• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across projects.

• Contribute to microservices architecture, domain-driven design, and code quality standards.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with Django and Django REST Framework.

• Strong expertise in relational databases and Django ORM.

• Deep understanding of REST API design, MVC, backend patterns, and scalable architecture.

• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and containerized deployments.

• Hands-on with Celery, Redis/Memcached, and asynchronous/background processing.

• Proficient in AWS services (S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch).

• Experience with GraphQL and frontend integration.

• Prior experience mentoring teams or leading technical initiatives.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of mentoring or technical leadership experience is required.
