Job Summary:

  • The Junior Programmer cum IT Associate is responsible for assisting in the development, maintenance, and support of the restaurant's information systems and technology infrastructure. This role ensures smooth operation of computer systems, networks, POS terminals, and other IT-related equipment, while also developing or maintaining in-house software and automation tools that improve business efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Programming and Systems Development

  • Designing, coding, testing, and debugging internal systems or applications to support restaurant operations (e.g., inventory systems, ordering systems, reporting tools).
  • Maintain and update existing in-house software or databases.
  • Coordinate with end-users to gather requirements and improve existing IT solutions.
  • Prepare system documentation, user manuals, and technical reports.

B. IT Support and Maintenance

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for all IT-related concerns, including hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, POS machines, delivery robots, queuing systems, CCTV systems, and other IT devices.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure data security and backup procedures are in place.

C. System and Network Administration

  • Assist in maintaining the LAN/WAN, internet connectivity, and security systems (firewalls, antivirus, etc.).
  • Support configuration and management of servers and shared drives.
  • Manage user accounts, access controls, and email systems.

D. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, licenses, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare reports on system performance, IT incidents, and improvement recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and IT standards.

E. Other Tasks

  • Provide technical assistance during restaurant operations (e.g., POS troubleshooting, printer setup, queuing system maintenance, kiosk maintenance, robot maintenance).
  • Assist with online menu, menu boards, and multimedia displays.
  • Support data analysis and automation initiatives for management reports.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Knowledgeable in any programming language.
  • Experience or familiarity with database management (MySQL, SQL Server, or MS Access).
  • Understanding of network setup, troubleshooting, and hardware maintenance.
  • Experience with POS systems or restaurant automation is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and a customer-service-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions:

  • Based at restaurant branches or head office, with occasional fieldwork to other sites.
  • May be required to work on weekends or holidays during system maintenance or urgent technical issues.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, including rotating or shifting schedules.
