HVAC Technician

About the role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician to join our team at QQ English. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems at our facilities in Cebu City, Cebu. As a key member of our Trades & Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the comfort and energy efficiency of our working environment.

What you'll be doing

1. Installation & Commissioning - Install, test, and commission VRF/VRV air-conditioning systems according to manufacturer standards. Ensure proper piping, wiring, and refrigerant charging during installation. Conduct performance checks and system calibration after setup.
2. Preventive Maintenance - Execute scheduled preventive maintenance for VRF/VRV and conventional split-type systems. Inspect refrigerant levels, electrical connections, filters, coils, and compressors. Record system parameters and report potential issues before failure occurs.
3. Troubleshooting & Repair - Diagnose system malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical manuals. Repair electrical and mechanical faults on indoor and outdoor units. Replace defective components such as compressors, PCB boards, sensors, and fan motors.
4. System Monitoring & Optimization - Ensure VRF/VRV systems operate at optimal performance levels. Adjust system settings for energy efficiency and comfort balance. Maintain detailed service records and submit maintenance reports.
5. Safety & Compliance - Follow all safety procedures when handling refrigerants, electrical tools, and heavy equipment. Comply with environmental standards related to refrigerant handling and disposal. Report unsafe conditions or potential hazards to the supervisor immediately.

What we're looking for

1. At least a Technical/Vocational Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, HVAC Technology, or equivalent. TESDA NC II or higher in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (preferred).
2. Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional split-type systems and VRF/VRV systems (Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, or similar brands).
3. Strong understanding of HVAC principles, electrical controls, and refrigerant systems.
4. Proficient in reading electrical and refrigerant schematics.
5. Ability to use HVAC diagnostic tools (manifold gauge, vacuum pump, multimeter, etc.).
6. Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
