Job Summary:

The General Accountant is responsible for managing the company's day-to-day accounting and financial activities, ensuring compliance with Philippine accounting standards, tax laws, and regulatory requirements. This role includes maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, managing payroll, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update the general ledger and ensure accuracy in financial data.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (e.g., balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement).
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
  • Handle accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Ensure timely filing of tax returns (VAT, EWT, Income Tax, etc.) with the BIR.
  • Prepare and process payroll and government remittances (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR).
  • Support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis.
  • Liaise with external auditors, government agencies, and other stakeholders as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage but not required.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in general accounting or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of Philippine Taxation, BIR regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar).
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • High attention to detail, integrity, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a BPO or outsourcing environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PEZA or BOI requirements (if applicable).
  • Knowledge of payroll systems and government compliance reporting tools (e.g., Alphalist preparation, BIR eFPS).
