Our Client

In this position, you will be assigned to our Australian-based client. They are a Xero Advisor Certified Practice and they provide high quality financial management services to small. Medium and large organizations, supporting them to operate, report and plan effectively.

You will be responsible for implementing high-quality accounting practices and quality communication both within the team and with clients to meet deadlines and achieve high customer satisfaction.

We're looking for a skilled Senior Accountant with solid Australian accounting experience who can ensure accurate reporting, compliance, and meaningful insights for decision-making.

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare and publish financial and management reports using Xero and related tools
  • Review and reconcile accounts, ensuring accuracy across balance sheet and P&L
  • Prepare BAS, PAYG, and Superannuation reports in line with AU standards
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and maintain Xero Workpapers, and assist with year-end audits
  • Assist with the preparation of Spotlight reports and other management summaries
  • Ensure compliance with relevant taxation and reporting regulations
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve discrepancies and support reporting needs

Your Background

  • Tertiary qualified in an accounting discipline
  • CA/CPA qualification or working towards completion
  • The ability to troubleshoot inconsistencies and errors
  • High level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with figures
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with peaks in demands
  • Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
  • Xero certification
  • Experience with any of the applications: Xero Suite, Spotlight Reporting, Google Suite, Freshdesk, Jetpack, ReceiptBank and Slack

Nice-to-have

  • Non-profit accounting experience
  • Proficiency with other accounting and reporting software
  • Cross-cultural awareness
