Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant plays a key leadership role in overseeing the end-to-end financial management of Smart Outsourcing Solution (SOS) and its affiliated entities. This position ensures the accuracy and integrity of all financial records, manages client billing and collections, supervises payroll and statutory compliance, and prepares consolidated financial reports across the Philippines and Hong Kong.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance professional with a strong grasp of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS), experience in multi-currency transactions, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced Employer of Record (EOR) and outsourcing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage supplier and vendor payments with accuracy and timeliness.
• Standardize and maintain recurring and project-based client invoicing cycles.
• Automate invoice generation using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online).
• Maintain receivables ageing reports and implement follow-up procedures for overdue accounts.
• Reconcile client payments and allocate receipts across multiple entities.

Payroll & Statutory Compliance

• Process monthly payroll through Sprout HRIS in full compliance with DOLE, SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG requirements.
• Integrate attendance, payroll, and invoicing workflows for EOR and staff leasing employees.
• Manage accruals for 13th-month pay, unused leave, and other employee benefits.
• Prepare and submit statutory remittance schedules in coordination with the external CPA firm.

Payments & Treasury

• Oversee centralized receipts and disbursements across multiple bank accounts (PHP, USD, AUD, HKD).
• Schedule and execute payment runs for payroll, government remittances, and vendor obligations.
• Manage foreign exchange (FX) strategies and record translation adjustments for multi-currency reporting.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and maintain rolling three-month liquidity plans.

Financial Reporting & Management Accounts

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support management decision-making.
• Coordinate with external auditors and outsourced accounting partners.
• Ensure accrual-based bookkeeping aligned with PFRS and international standards.

Tax & Compliance

• Oversee accurate and timely tax filings (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax) in coordination with the CPA partner.
• Develop quarterly tax plans and maintain a compliance calendar.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations and ensure transfer pricing documentation is up to date.
• Manage employee reimbursements and petty cash disbursements.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Implement automation in accounts receivable, reminders, and reporting workflows.
• Maintain and enhance integrations between QuickBooks, Sprout, and related systems.
• Develop dashboards for real-time management reporting (e.g., P&L, client margins, receivables ageing).
• Support the scaling of the finance function by training and supervising junior accounting staff or AP/AR specialists.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5–7 years of full-cycle accounting experience, preferably within outsourcing, shared services, or international business settings.
• Strong understanding of PFRS, tax compliance, and payroll systems.
• Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Sprout, or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, forecasting, data analysis).
• Proven experience handling multi-currency transactions and consolidated reporting.
• High attention to detail, analytical mindset, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
