Overall Purpose of The Job
The Senior Travel Support will work with multiple teams within the business to ensure that there is complete alignment between departments and systems, on the definition of functionality and that the features and benefits of the business platforms are both fully developed and correctly communicated to internal teams and customers alike.

Supporting the Administration & Operations departments with technical functionalities, such as Quality Control, Smart Keys, Scripts and GDS support, Mid/back-office processes & functionality, the Senior Travel Support will represent the needs of the staff and customers, developing a rich expertise in operations & administration and their usage of products and use this knowledge to define product capabilities. To promote design and development ideas which ensure that the systems provide increased efficiencies whilst delivering added value. Train and support external/internal customer and staff on in-house products. Work closely with all travel office's locations worldwide. Work alone and also within a team. Reporting into the Global Director Operations and support with any Ad hoc requirements.

Key Responsibilities And Tasks

  • Supporting the Global Operations Director on a day-to-day basis.
  • Creating & updating Smart Keys
  • Building Quality Control Rules.
  • Support issues with all front & mid office systems
  • Working with 3rd party developers to test enhancements before going into production.
  • Training internal and external customers & staff on GMT products.
  • Trouble shooting / fact finding / testing.
  • Writing User Guides.
  • Auditing and issuance of airline tickets in accordance with airline rules and procedures set by GMT
  • Ensure no lower class is available upon ticket issue
  • Chief co-ordinator for all airline rates & information matters
  • To assist any clients (when applicable)

  • Excellent GDS knowledge (Amadeus preferable).

  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Proven working experience as a business travel consultant minimum 2/3 years
  • Excellent knowledge of travel software (computer reservations systems, GDS systems and online booking tools)
  • High level of customer service
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage
  • Experience of dealing with Multi nationalities
  • Understanding of Corporate and Marine Travel
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products: Excel, Word & PowerPoint
  • Ability to present, persuade and communicate effectively
  • Ability to train Face to Face and via Ms Teams
  • Amicable and approachable

  • Strong computer skills in particular with Amadeus reservation/pricing system, use of e-mails, word processing.
  • Strong experience from airlines or travel department as a ticketing agent.
  • Knowledge of the mid-office system (ProTas).
  • A positive Outlook and be a self-motivated team player.
  • Must be organised, proactive / resourceful.
