Qualifications:

  • Graduate of Management, Accountancy or other related course
  • At least 5 - 8 years of immersive experience in the different facets of Management, Accounting and Finance.
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends in the industry and in the general market
  • Background in team management, coaching and mentoring
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Excellent command of the English Language (both written and verbal)
  • Proven competency and proficiency with the use of Accounting Software is an advantage for this role
  • Ability to work around new tools and accounting processes is an advantage
  • Is able to process and organize and sort financial data to come up with sound analysis for appropriate and helpful information to aid in management decision making. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for Budget and Financial preparation and analysis across the whole organization and individual departments. 
  • Ensures and maintains clear and proper guidelines and procedures for finance operations within the entire organization covering (but not limited to) the following:
    • Budget Policy, Request, Disbursement and Liquidation 
    • Cashiering, Student Payment and Customer Service Operations 
    • Cashflow Management
  • Develops, updates, and oversees implementation of Department policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Validates disbursement positions, funding levels, expense commitments and ensures alignment with institutional financial and budget goals. 
  • Monitors monthly KPI submissions from the Officers.
  • Reviews and prepares monthly FS reports to the Board and Mancom.  (FS, Budget vs Actuals, Budget Performance, Cash Position).
  • Coordinates and works closely with the Accounting manager and the accounting team for smooth general operations and compliance of both teams. 
  • Diagnoses workflow or policy gaps and implements practical process solutions.
  • Mentors Finance team and leads internal knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Develops and maintains a Finance manual.
