Our client is a trusted Philippine retail brand with 100+ stores nationwide and nearly two decades of strong market presence in automotive, residential, and commercial cooling solutions. With the company entering its next phase of expansion, they are seeking a MERCHANDISING HEAD (Senior Manager Level) who can elevate product strategy, strengthen supplier partnerships, and drive category profitability across all stores.
This is a pivotal role for a seasoned retail or FMCG merchandising leader who excels in assortment planning, pricing strategy, supplier negotiation, and category development.
What You Will LeadMerchandising Strategy & Category Leadership
- Develop and execute merchandising strategies that enhance sales, margin, and inventory efficiency.
- Lead category planning across multiple product lines, ensuring the right assortment for nationwide stores.
- Oversee product lifecycle management—from selection to phase-out.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships for product availability, pricing, and exclusivity opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts, trading terms, and cost structures to drive profitability.
- Evaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Lead pricing strategy, margin management, and competitive benchmarking.
- Oversee planning of promotions, bundles, and in-store offers that drive conversion.
- Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Analyze consumer behavior, sales reports, and category performance.
- Identify market opportunities and emerging trends for product expansion.
- Monitor competitor activities and retail best practices.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to align merchandising plans with business objectives.
- Coordinate with Marketing for product launches, campaigns, and seasonal activations.
- Lead and mentor the merchandising team to ensure effective execution.
- Build capabilities in category management, negotiations, planning, and analysis.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in retail or FMCG merchandising is required.
- Strong background in category management, supplier negotiations, buying, and retail assortment planning.
- Leadership experience in managing a merchandising or buying team.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven ability to drive margin and category growth.
- Expertise in retail pricing, promos, and product lifecycle management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
- Highly data-driven with strong skills in forecasting and inventory analysis.
- Lead the entire merchandising function of a highly trusted national retail brand.
- Influence product direction, profitability, and nationwide retail performance.
