About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accountant based in the Philippines to provide accounting support to our Australian Accounting Department. The role focuses on transactional processing, reconciliations, and reporting preparation in line with Australian accounting and compliance requirements. This is a support role — working closely with the Australian finance team — and does not require direct client or subcontractor interaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and on time.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and working papers for BAS, IAS, payroll tax, PAYG, and superannuation (final lodgement handled in Australia).
  • Assist in monthly closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Support project accounting by processing subcontractor claims, invoices, and expense records.
  • Generate standard financial and management reports for review by the Australian accounting team.
  • Provide audit support by compiling requested documents and reports.
  • Ensure all data entry and reporting tasks meet internal deadlines and accuracy standards.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • At least 5 years' experience in accounting, preferably in a shared services or offshore support role.
  • Exposure to Australian accounting principles and compliance (GST, BAS, payroll, superannuation) is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (IFS ERP (Industrial and Financial Systems) ).
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, reconciliations, data analysis).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with a remote Australian team.
  • Willingness to work across Australian time zones as required.
