Demand Planning Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for the over-all stock availability based on demand requirements. Prepares order plan and provides sales analysis to the management and the sales and marketing department
1. Forecasting and Demand Planning
a. Creates and owns the baseline forecast on a per brand and SKU level.
b. Updates forecasts to incorporate new product introductions, product conversions, product deactivations, seasonal products, discounts & promotions into the plan.
c. Conducts historical sales analysis at a channel level and performs data cleansing to build statistical baseline forecast.
d. Monitors and reports important changes in demand forecasts, order plans, budgets, and business strategies or tactics.
e. Highlights potential risks and opportunities in the demand plan vs financial budget/estimates.
f. Continuously assesses the sales and operations process for improvement
g. Coordinates with interfacing department in formulating re-order points and stock to sales (SSR) ratio of all merchandise.
h. Submits accurate and timely information and analysis to assess the performance of the brand/category being handled as against the prevailing company goals and objectives.
i. Generates rolling forecast for the monthly, quarterly and annual orders.
j. Reviews and validates sales movement in relation with the forecast generated.
k. Drives improvement of forecast assumptions, exception management and root cause analysis to identify forecast risks, deviations and issues and develop effective mitigation plans.
l. Drives collaboration between Sales, Marketing. Purchasing, Finance and Operations on holistic business impact.
m. Consult with the Supply Chain Consultant in authoring the Demand Planning Business Process Manual and Policies.
2. Inventory Management
a. Analyze and monitor stock inventory levels (SSR), stock ageing, inbound and outbound deliveries
b. Ensures attainability of required inventory stock levels by coordinating with Purchasing, Warehouse and Logistics.
c. Manages pull-in and rush delivery request for any critical stocks with confirmed demand with penalties.
d. Reviews and analyzes the future demand trend vs. forecast.
3. Purchasing Department Coordination
a. Monitors and coordinates with the Purchasing Manager with regards to inbound stock shipments and delivery commitment schedules.
b. Assesses all purchase orders which should attain the maximum efficiency, cost effectiveness and quality aligned with the demand forecast.
c. Helps Purchasing Manager ensure efficient Procurement Cycle time
d. Confirm with the Purchasing Department on the expected time or arrival of shipments when needed.
4. Warehouse Department Coordination
a. Regularly monitors the accuracy of inventory of stocks on each warehouse and factors in demand forecasting and planning.
b. Regularly checks with Warehouse Managers if proper replenishment of products is correct (first in, first out/ FIFO, first expiry, first out/ FEFO).
C. Periodically checks with Warehouse Managers the proper recording of withdrawn items from storage area.
d. Confirms with the Warehouse Department on the arrival of shipments.
5. Logistics Department Coordination
a. Monitors and coordinates with the Logistics Manager with regards to outbound stock deliveries, pull out, backload, RTVs and their schedules.
b. Coordinates with the Logistics Manager on delivery concern and communicates with major accounts for resolution.
6. ERP Management- TRACC
a. Assists TRACC supplier to set-up ERP System based on company requirements
b. Coordinates with the Supply Chain Consultant in developing the Demand Planning module of the ERP System.
c. Reviews internal system to fit-in with TRACC Programs.
d. Attends meetings with TRACC Developer.
- May perform other duties assigned by the management from to time to time. Must be flexible to changes that may occur during the course of employment.
Educational Attainment:
Graduate of Accounting, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or any business-related courses.
Work Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a demand planning/forecasting role preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager capacity
- Exposure to FMCG and/or retail landscape
- Technical Skills:
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in computation with a good sense of business acumen
- Advance MS Excel skills.
- Highly analytical with a good sense of business acumen
Behavioral Skills:
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment;
- can work independently
- Pays attention to details and monitors quality of inventory
- Punctual and calm under pressure
