MECHANICAL AND EQUIPMENT INSPECTOR

Position Overview:

Planters Aggregates, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical and Equipment Inspector to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant machinery and equipment. The role involves conducting routine inspections, identifying defects or mechanical issues, and coordinating corrective actions to maintain optimal performance of the crushing plant and auxiliaries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of mechanical equipment such as conveyors, motors, crushers, bearings, pulleys, and gearboxes.
• Monitor and assess equipment performance and identify early signs of wear, defects, breakdown risks, or non-compliance.
• Provide detailed inspection reports, including findings, classifications, and recommendations for repair or preventive actions.
• Coordinate with the Maintenance Team for corrective and preventive maintenance planning.
• Ensure equipment safety standards and best practices are carried out at all times.
• Validate completion and effectiveness of maintenance and repair works.
• Maintain accurate records of inspection logs, assessments, and equipment history.
• Support root cause analysis for repeated equipment faults or breakdowns.
• Recommend improvements for equipment efficiency and system reliability.

Inspection Checklist (Key Areas to Cover)

The Mechanical and Equipment Inspector will inspect, assess, and report on the following areas:

1. Conveyor System

□ Condition of belts (cuts, tears, alignment, tension)

□ Idlers and rollers (rotation, alignment, wear)

□ Pulleys (lagging wear, alignment, lubrication)

□ Belt safety guards and emergency pull cords

2. Crushers (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary)

□ Chambers, liners, and jaw/concave wear condition

□ Feed chute, discharge chute, and blockages

□ Lubrication system and oil levels

□ Vibration, noise, and abnormal machine behavior

3. Motors and Gearboxes

□ Temperature and unusual vibrations

□ Oil levels, leaks, and lubrication condition

□ Coupling and alignment

□ Mounting bolts and foundation condition

4. Bearings and Shafts

□ Lubrication and grease levels

□ Abnormal noise or heat

□ Wear, cracks, or looseness

5. Screens and Feeders

□ Screen mesh tension and condition

□ Vibration motors condition

□ Springs and supports

□ Accumulated material or blockages

6. Safety and Structural Components

□ Guards and covers properly installed

□ Handrails, platforms, and access ladders

□ Fire extinguishers in equipment area

□ Housekeeping and obstruction-free pathways

7. Post-Repair Validation Checklist

□ Work completed based on service order

□ Machine tested and performance verified

□ Safety checks and lock-out tag-out clearance

□ Final sign-off with Maintenance and Operations

Qualifications:

• Preferably a graduate of Mechanical Engineering or any related technical course.
• Experience in mechanical inspection, plant equipment maintenance, or crushing/aggregates operations is an advantage.
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical troubleshooting, inspection, and maintenance standards.
• Solid understanding of safety procedures and risk identification.
• Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Keen attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Php16, Php18,000.00 per month
