About the role

Ascendion, a leading technology company in the Philippines, is seeking a skilled Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. As an Oracle DBA, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and optimization of our mission-critical Oracle database infrastructure. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

  1. Perform database administration tasks such as installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Oracle database systems
  2. Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability
  3. Optimize database performance, including indexing, query tuning, and capacity planning
  4. Manage user access, security, and permissions to ensure data integrity and comply with regulatory requirements
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development and deployment
  6. Proactively identify and resolve database-related issues to minimize downtime and ensure seamless operations
  7. Document processes, procedures, and best practices to maintain the health and stability of the database infrastructure

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  2. Proven experience as an Oracle Database Administrator
  3. Expertise in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, backup, and recovery
  4. Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning techniques
  5. Understanding of database security, user management, and access control
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  7. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex database issues
  8. Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Amazon RDS) is a plus
