Job Title:
Application Support Engineer

The Work

As an Application Support Engineer, you will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues within critical business systems. You will work closely with team members to troubleshoot problems, analyze system performance, and implement solutions that improve reliability and efficiency. This role also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and ensure smooth application operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform independently and grow into a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Actively participate and contribute in team discussions.
  • Provide solutions to work-related problems.
  • Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve application issues.
  • Document troubleshooting processes and solutions for future reference.
  • Provide training and support to team members on best practices.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and new technologies to enhance service delivery.

Required Skills

  • Expert proficiency in
    Database Administration
    .
  • Strong understanding of database management systems and architecture.
  • Experience in database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery strategies for data protection.
  • Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages for database manipulation

Good to Have Skills

  • Experience with
    cloud-based database solutions

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in
    Database Administration
    .
  • 2–10 years of experience with
    major cloud platforms
    (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
  • Strong background in
    DevOps automation
    .
  • Proficiency in
    Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
    tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of
    containerization
    (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a detail-oriented approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant cloud certifications.
  • Experience with
    hybrid and multi-cloud strategies
    .
  • Familiarity with
    Agile/Scrum methodologies
    .

Technical Expertise

  • Containers as a Service (CaaS), cloud automation, and containerization.
  • Database design and architecture (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, cloud databases).
  • Operating system architecture (Linux, OpenShift, Solaris, Windows).
  • Active Directory consultancy.
  • VMWare expertise
    : vCenter, TCA, NSX, vRLI, vROPS, Harbor, AVI, vRO, vCloud, PPDM cluster integration.
  • Firmware upgrade experience (Dell CMC, HPE enclosures, and switches).
