We are seeking a proactive and experienced Unit Head to oversee the daily operations within the Clinical Laboratory. The ideal candidate will ensure that all activities are executed efficiently and in full compliance with the organization's established policies, standards, and procedures

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This person is responsible on planning, lead, and coordinate all operational activities of the unit to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  • Encourage innovation through creative problem-solving and continuous improvement in systems, processes, and services. Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organizational goals, addressing both short- and long-term objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment and maintain strong working relationships across departments. Make sound, data-driven decisions to support operational effectiveness and achieve business goals.
  • Coach and mentor team members, providing regular feedback to support their professional growth and performance development.
  • Drive results by translating business strategies into actionable goals, and establishing systems to monitor workflow and outputs.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Perform routine and specialized hematology tests such as CBC, ESR, reticulocyte count, and peripheral blood smear examinations.
  • Validate test results through quality control procedures and correlate findings with clinical data. Maintain accurate records of test results and ensure compliance with DOH, hospital, and laboratory standards.
  • Conduct routine analyses of urine, stool, and various body fluids through chemical, physical, and microscopic examinations to identify cells, casts, crystals, parasites, and other abnormalities using manual and automated techniques.
  • Operate and maintain clinical microscopy instruments, ensuring proper calibration and quality control.
  • Document, verify, and release accurate laboratory results in accordance with hospital and laboratory policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A graduate and licensed Medical Technologist with leadership, organizational, and people management skills.
  • With at least 5 years' experience demonstrating expertise in strategic planning, performance management, quality assurance, and team development.
  • Ability to drive operational results while maintaining a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Amenable to work in San Juan, Metro Manila.
