Principal Civil Technician, Roads

Main activities and responsibilities includes:

• Responsible in the development of technical drawings from designer sketches and working sheets to the final outputs taking into consideration the clarity, completeness and accuracy of the plan.
• Manage project information in compliance with ISO 19650 standards or project requirement.
• Accountable for the coordination, production of drawings, and drafting requirements of the assigned project/s.
• Develops the appropriate quality drafting solutions, coordinates the activities of other group members and assists in production as needed to meet project requirements and schedules.
• Ensures all drawings are reviewed before they are presented to the client.
• Adheres to prescribed Design Standards and Design Quality Procedures.
• Provides the necessary technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to the Civil Technician staff to assure total quality of all drafting efforts.
• May serve as the Project Lead when dictated by project size, complexity or request.
• Identify project related issues and provide solutions to meet client expectations.
• Manage drafting iterations based on client's comments or new project requirements.
• Assists the Regional Team Executive & Civil Discipline Lead in delivering quality design services and meet revenue projections and client expectations.
• Assists in evaluating technical and logistic problem/s of personnel to ensure smooth flow of operation and maintain high standard of quality work.
• Conscientiously works towards the business objectives and adheres to the company policies.
• Perform tasks assigned by the project lead, discipline & stream leads, Transport Manila, Regional Team Executive in line with his experience, discipline or qualifications.
• Comply with all role specific HSEQ obligations as required.
• Excellent time management skills (prioritizing and follow-up).
• Assist and support any Transport Digital Engineering Pillars.
• Ability to automate drafting processes.
• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining momentum, and managing to project due dates.
• Certification on Project Management Level 1 (PMCP Level 1). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
• Help managers develop their team members through career pathing.
• Keeps abreast of new developments and methods relevant to area of expertise.

Qualifications (minimum and desirable):

• Graduate of any technical course or atleast three (3) years in BS Engineering or BS Architecture course.

Experience, Capabilities & Competencies:

• At least fifteen (15) years of relevant civil drafting experience
• High level drafting and detailing skills.
• High level use and understanding of CAD software and how it applies (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise, Bluebeam, Inventor).
• Proficiency in Civil 3D & Dynamo is an advantage.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and scripting, MS Word and MS Excel is desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant industry related Australian Standards, local Road Authority Standards, ISO 19650 and other road and civil design standards.
• Exposure to different business models and industry best practice.
• Experience in leading a project.
• Preferably with experience on Australian projects.
