Senior Civil Technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and update civil and structural drawings, layouts, and as-built plans using CAD or similar software.
  • Assist engineers in the design and documentation of roads, drainage, utilities, and other infrastructure works.
  • Conduct site inspections, measurements, and surveys to verify construction progress and compliance with plans.
  • Support preparation of material take-offs, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to company, client, and regulatory standards for safety and quality.
  • Mentor junior technicians and support team knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • At least eight to ten years of relevant structural drafting experience
  • High level drafting and detailing skills
  • High level use and understanding of CAD software and how it applies (AutoCAD, MicroStation, ProjectWise)
  • Prepares engineering drawing deliverables from sketches, calculations and/or specifications
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D an advantage
  • Exposure to different business models and industry best practice
  • Preferably with experience on Australian projects
