Clients look to Horizon Engineers for start-to-end project consultancy for Transport Civil Infrastructure, Commercial and Residential Design, structural, hydraulic and stormwater delivering ongoing quality in a collaborative & systematic approach.

As we continue our journey of growth and innovation, we are excited to invite applications for the role of CIVIL Engineer.

Role Overview:

As a Civil Engineer and Drafter at Horizon Engineers, you will play a pivotal role in the creation of design documentation by providing expert drafting services and modeling. Your collaboration with our design managers in Sydney, Australia, facilitated by advanced management software, email, and MS Teams correspondence, will be instrumental in ensuring a seamless workflow.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and drafting of road and pavement including line section and cross sections.
  • Drafting and Design of civil and stormwater infrastructure in relation to major building projects, including private/public roads, pavement, stormwater, and water/sewer reticulation.
  • Perform clash detection
  • Execute engineering design projects in alignment with project briefs and fees.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and policies.
  • Understand project requirements and utilize project standards and CAD Civil 3D programs.
  • Collaborate with builders, architects, and services engineers on design issues.
  • Prepare comprehensive civil engineering drawings.

Candidate Profile:

To excel in this role, candidates are expected to meet the following qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor level) in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 2-5 years of consultancy design experience in Civil stormwater discipline.
  • Local experience in projects with NSW councils and local authorities.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D/12D or equivalent software.
  • Knowledge of Australian and other international standards.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Initiative and a strong work ethic.
