Job Description

As a structural technician, you will play a key role in supporting engineering projects by developing high-quality drawings from basic data supplied. You will work closely with the project team to ensure that all drawings are accurate, complete, and meet the required standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Prepare detailed engineering drawings from sketches and design information under supervision.
  2. Comply with CAD Standards and Quality Systems relevant to the practice area and apply techniques and procedures commonly used in the field.
  3. Develop time management skills and flexibility to manage a varying workload.
  4. Agree on priorities and deadlines for drawing production with the Project Lead.
  5. Develop general arrangement drawings from the engineer's sketches and other design team drawings, and translate sketches into coordinated details.
  6. Ensure clarity, completeness, and accuracy of drawings and presentation materials.
  7. Adhere to drafting standards and procedures.
  8. Follow QA, document control, and archiving guidelines on all work.
  9. Collaborate with project team members on specified aspects of the project.
  10. Perform tasks assigned by the Principal Civil Technician / Drafting Discipline Lead / Discipline Lead / Regional Team Executive in line with experience and qualifications.
Qualifications
  • A graduate of any technical course or at least three (3) years in BS Engineering or BS Architecture.
  • Three to seven years of relevant structural drafting experience.
  • Experience working on projects as CAD support and as part of a CAD team.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation; familiarity with ProjectWise, Bluebeam Revu; proficiency in Revit, OBM, and Dynamo is an advantage.
  • Preferably with experience on Australian projects.
