A Logistic Manager (or Logistics Manager) is a professional responsible for overseeing and coordinating the storage, transportation, and delivery of goods throughout the supply chain. They ensure that products are delivered to the right location, on time, and in a cost-effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supply Chain Coordination:
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of a product from acquisition to delivery.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and customers.
  • Transportation Management:
  • Select appropriate transportation methods (air, land, sea).
  • Monitor shipments and ensure timely delivery.
  • Inventory Control:
  • Manage stock levels to avoid excess or shortages.
  • Use inventory management systems to track goods.
  • Warehouse Operations:
  • Oversee storage procedures.
  • Ensure safe handling and proper documentation of inventory.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise logistics staff, drivers, and warehouse workers.
  • Train employees and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
  • Monitor logistics budgets and optimize transportation costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with carriers and service providers.

Key Skills:

  • A bachelor's degree in logistics and supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is a common first step.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities
