Your Role

As an AU Risk and Compliance Officer, you are responsible for:

Risk Identification and Assessment

  • Identify operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments to evaluate likelihood and impact.
  • Maintain and regularly update the risk register.

Risk Mitigation and Crisis Management

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies across departments.
  • Monitor and adjust mitigation measures for effectiveness.
  • Support crisis management planning and participate in response activities.

Incident Reporting and Investigation

  • Oversee accurate and timely incident reporting.
  • Investigate incidents to determine root causes.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions.

Quality Standards and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with ISO and industry-specific standards.
  • Develop and maintain quality management policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify compliance.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve processes, services, and products.
  • Collaborate with teams on improvement projects.
  • Track and report outcomes of initiatives.

Customer Feedback and Satisfaction

  • Collect and analyze feedback to drive improvements.
  • Address complaints and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor and report customer satisfaction trends.

Training and Awareness

  • Provide staff training on risk, compliance, and quality management.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and quality through workshops and materials.
  • Ensure employees understand their role in maintaining standards.

Record Keeping and Reporting

  • Maintain organized records of assessments, audits, and incident reports.
  • Prepare regular reports on risks, quality issues, and action plan progress.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.

Internal & External Communication

  • Communicate risk and quality updates across departments.
  • Provide guidance and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and certification bodies.
  • Represent the organization in industry groups and forums.

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years in a Risk, Compliance, or Quality Management role.
  • Strong background in risk assessment, mitigation, and incident management.
  • Skilled in email and information management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to diverse environments.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and software.
