Procurement Assistant

Job Summary:
The Procurement Assistant supports the purchasing and supply chain operations by handling procurement requests, sourcing suppliers, preparing purchase orders, monitoring deliveries, and maintaining accurate procurement records. The role ensures timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services in accordance with company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality and cost standards.
- Obtain price quotations, compare bids, and recommend suppliers.
- Maintain an updated supplier database and records of purchased items, delivery information, and invoices.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments regarding order status, deliveries, and payment concerns.
- Monitor inventory levels to determine purchasing needs and avoid shortages.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Assist in negotiating terms and conditions with suppliers (price, payment terms, and delivery schedules).
- Support the Procurement Officer/Manager in supplier evaluation and performance monitoring.
- Perform other administrative and procurement-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in procurement
- Knowledge of procurement processes, purchasing systems, and basic contract management.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge in NetSuite is an advantage.
