Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Monitor cash flow, expenses, and profitability of the supermarket.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports to management.
  • Manage and review general ledger accounts, journal entries, and financial adjustments.
  • Conduct variance analysis between actual and budgeted figures.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Develop and manage the annual budget and financial forecasts.
  • Coordinate with store and department heads for budget planning and expense control.
  • Track and analyze sales, operating expenses, and margin performance.

3. Accounting Operations

  • Supervise daily accounting activities such as accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and inventory control.
  • Oversee bank reconciliation, cash fund management, and petty cash usage.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of financial transactions.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounting records.

4. Inventory & Cost Control

  • Monitor inventory movement and ensure accurate cost accounting for merchandise.
  • Collaborate with store operations and warehouse teams to minimize shrinkage and wastage.
  • Conduct periodic audits and reconciliations of physical inventory against system records.

5. Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, government regulations, and internal policies.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports (BIR, SSS, PHIC, HDMF, etc.).
  • Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
  • Implement internal control systems to safeguard company assets.

6. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead and mentor accounting staff to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct training and performance evaluation of finance team members.
