Job Summary: The Trucking Coordinator position is responsible for organizing the pickup and delivery of cargo to and from ports, airports, warehouses, and customer locations. As coordinator, you need to ensure that shipments move on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to effectively liaise with carriers, drivers, customs brokers, warehouse teams, and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch trucks to and from ports, CFS stations, bonded warehouses, and client facilities.
  • Work closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and drayage providers to ensure timely cargo movement.
  • Monitor and track all inland transportation activities; provide real-time updates to operations and customers.
  • Resolve transportation delays, accessorial charges, and other issues proactively.
  • Ensure proper documentation for inland moves, including delivery orders, proof of delivery (POD), and customs clearance forms.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in trucking coordination, dispatching, or inland operations within the freight forwarding, logistics, or transportation industry
  • Familiarity with import/export procedures and documentation (e.g., delivery orders, PODs, customs clearance)
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills with carriers, drivers, and internal teams
  • Proficient in transportation management systems (TMS), freight forwarding software (e.g., CargoWise, Descartes), and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
