IV.JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a
proactive and detail-oriented Bookkeeper
to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping and payroll who takes initiative, delivers accurate financial reporting, and supports management with insights and process improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Financial Oversight & Bookkeeping
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.
Management Reporting
- Prepare and deliver detailed management reports through
Fathom
. - Provide analysis of financial performance, variance reporting, and insights to support strategic decision-making.
Payroll Management
- Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation, modern awards, and company policies.
BAS/IAS Preparation & Lodgement
- Prepare and review
Business Activity Statements (BAS)
and
Instalment Activity Statements (IAS)
. - Ensure accurate and timely compliance with ATO requirements including GST, PAYG, and related obligations.
Superannuation Compliance
- Reconcile superannuation contributions monthly and quarterly.
- Ensure accurate and timely payments to relevant funds.
Process Improvement & Advisory
- Proactively identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiencies.
- Provide recommendations to management on internal controls and compliance.
Ad-hoc Financial Support
- Support with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other compliance or financial initiatives as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum
2 years of proven experience
in bookkeeping or accounting roles within the Australian market. - Strong knowledge of
Australian taxation, BAS/IAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation requirements
. - Proficiency with
accounting software
(e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced reporting skills, ideally with
Fathom
. - Solid understanding of payroll processing and employment legislation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication, time management, and
proactive work ethic
. - Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Cert IV or higher preferred).
