IV JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial operations and ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation standards. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping and payroll who can deliver accurate financial reporting while supporting management with insights and process improvements..

V WHAT YOU'LL DO

Financial Oversight & Bookkeeping

  • Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant standards.

Management Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver detailed management reports through Fathom.
  • Provide analysis of financial performance, variance reporting, and insights to support strategic decision-making.

Payroll Management

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation, modern awards, and company policies.

BAS/IAS Preparation & Lodgement

  • Prepare and review Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
  • Ensure accurate and timely compliance with ATO requirements including GST, PAYG, and related obligations.

Superannuation Compliance

  • Reconcile superannuation contributions monthly and quarterly.
  • Ensure accurate and timely payments to relevant funds.

Process Improvement & Advisory

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve reporting efficiencies.
  • Provide recommendations to management on internal controls and compliance.

Ad-hoc Financial Support

  • Support with audits, budgeting, forecasting, and other compliance or financial initiatives as required.

VI REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles within the Australian market.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation, BAS/IAS, GST, PAYG, and superannuation requirements.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced reporting skills, ideally with Fathom.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing and employment legislation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and time management skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or Finance (Cert IV or higher preferred)
