The Settlement and Reconciliation Analyst plays a critical role in safeguarding the integrity of PayMongo's financial operations by ensuring the accurate and timely reconciliation and settlement of transactions with partners, banks, and payment platforms. This role supports treasury operations through meticulous transaction monitoring, issue resolution, and reporting that enables sound financial controls and cash flow accuracy

As Settlement and Reconciliation Analyst, you will be responsible for:

Settlement and Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily reconciliations of financial transactions between PayMongo's systems, banking partners, and payment providers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve variances, reconciliation breaks, and settlement discrepancies through proactive communication and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Process settlement activities, ensuring that partner settlements are executed accurately and on time according to agreed schedules.

Operational Controls and Reporting:

  • Prepare reconciliation and settlement reports for review by the Treasury Operations Officer, Treasury Manager, and Finance stakeholders
  • Ensure all reconciliations and settlements are supported by accurate documentation in compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
  • Escalate issues promptly with well-documented analysis and recommendations for resolution.

Cash Flow and Treasury Support:

  • Support treasury operations in ensuring the completeness and accuracy of cash balances reflected in internal records versus bank statements.
  • Assist in preparing data for cash flow reporting, liquidity analysis, and treasury reports to support business decision-making.
  • Coordinate with Finance, Accounting, and Product teams to ensure alignment on settlement and reconciliation processes.

Process Improvement and Systems:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of settlement and reconciliation processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and control.
  • Assist in testing and implementation of system enhancements impacting reconciliation, settlement, and treasury reporting functions.

Ad Hoc and Cross-Functional Support:

  • Provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate provision of reconciliation data and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Treasury Operations Officer or Treasury Manager in support of treasury and finance operations.

You may be a fit if:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business, Economics, or a related field; CPA or an advanced degree is a plus.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in treasury operations, settlement, reconciliation, or financial analysis.
  • Experience in a fintech, banking, or financial institution environment is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Treasury Management Systems is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate effectively across functions and levels.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
