Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the preparation of monthly financial reports by consolidating data, and ensuring accuracy before submission for management review.
  • Oversee reconciliation of transactions and financial data within the automated accounting system (SAP), ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards.
  • Review and approve employee expense claims, ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
  • Review and sign off on routine financial correspondence, reports, and documentation prepared by staff.
  • Interpret and communicate accounting guidelines and policies to staff, providing guidance in resolving operational and financial issues.
  • Supervise daily operations of the unit: assign tasks, set priorities, monitor performance, and ensure completion of deliverables.
  • Maintain quality and production standards by reviewing outputs, conducting accuracy checks, and monitoring overall unit performance.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory reports (e.g., taxes, government contributions, and other regulatory requirements).
  • Supervise payroll operations including verification of attendance, statutory contributions, preparation of payslips, and payroll processing.
  • Monitor banking activities, resolve discrepancies (e.g., fee anomalies, check variances), and coordinate with banks as needed.
  • Review and provide input in preparing weekly budgets and forecasts to support management decision-making.
  • Oversee processes related to inventory cycles, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits; review documentation prepared by the team and address audit queries.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Review account analyses and financial reports prepared by the team, endorsing them for management use.
  • Supervise monthly and year-end closing activities and the preparation of financial statements for management reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field; CPA is an advantage.
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in accounting/finance.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team management abilities
