To lead and oversee all technical operations and ensure optimal performance of the oil mill and refinery plants, with the goal of meeting the required production volume and quality standards as specified in the sales contracts managed by the trading department. This role is critical in aligning plant performance with business goals through effective team leadership, process optimization, and continuous operational improvement.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations

  • Oversee factory's Copra Crushing/Refining Operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for technical operations, including systems, infrastructure, and process improvements.
  • Lead cross functional teams in Technical, Engineering and Maintenance.
  • Review daily plant production and promptly escalate any issues or irregularities to the Factory Manager for immediate action.
  • Collaborate with Factory Managers to evaluate issues and develop effective solutions or action plans.
  • Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and the progress of preventive maintenance programs.
  • Coordinate with Commercial Department on the volume and quality of commodities that need to be produced based on sales contracts and date of shipment.
  • Prepare and submit operational reports and performance statistics as requested by the General Manager or senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance/coaching for technical team and conduct performance evaluation.
  • Over-all in charge of factory's big projects
  • Oversee the Purchasing department

Projects

  • Initiate and develop projects aimed at resolving operational issues and enhancing the current manufacturing setup
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for operational projects.
  • Review and analysis of studies and projects presented by the team.
  • Propose feasible projects to the General Manager aimed at improving or correcting current manufacturing setups.
  • Appoint a Project Coordinator for each approved initiative and oversee the project's progress and successful completion.

Purchasing

  • Assist in reviewing canvass sheets, evaluate products and select suppliers that can provide quality items with reasonable costs.
  • Provide guidance with the Purchasing Team in recommending items to purchase to be approved by the General Manager.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing Team regarding the delivery and shipment to requested business locations.
  • Ensure that purchased items are delivered on time and shipped to requested business locations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed Mechanical Engineering or graduate of related disciplines
  • Proven experience in technical operations, engineering or related fields
  • Experiences in Copra crushing solvent plant operator, Copra Crushing/Refining Technical/Operations Supervisors, Copra Crushing/Refining Operations Manager is an advantage
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members to enhance skills, performance, and overall team effectiveness.
  • Must be willing to travel to the factories in Mindanao
