Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Financial Management and Reporting

  • Supervise and review the preparation of journal entries, ledgers, and financial statements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
  • Monitor budget utilization and assist in budget preparation and forecasting.
  • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable balances.

B. Supervision and Coordination

  • Oversee daily activities of accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in their work.
  • Assign and review accounting tasks such as billing, collections, disbursements, and payroll.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

C. Compliance and Audit

  • Ensure compliance with DOH, PhilHealth, BIR, and other government regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review reports for tax filings, statutory remittances, and financial audits.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and government agencies as necessary.

D. Internal Controls and Systems

  • Maintain and improve internal accounting controls and financial procedures.
  • Safeguard hospital assets and ensure integrity of financial data.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations.

E. Coordination and Communication

  • Collaborate with other departments for proper cost allocation and financial documentation.
  • Provide financial advice and support to hospital management for decision-making.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in accountancy or accounting-related course

License: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred but not required

Experience: At least 3–5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting

Technical Skills:
  1. Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or hospital billing systems)
  2. Knowledgeable in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  3. Strong understanding of Philippine taxation and government reporting (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG)
