
Accounts Payable Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing all payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing: Accurately review, verify, and enter invoices into the accounting system. Ensure proper authorization and documentation are in place.
Payment Processing: Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments by check, ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.
Vendor Management: Maintain and update vendor files, resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors, and respond to inquiries.
Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts payable transactions and statements to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Expense Reports: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate documentation.
Compliance: Ensure all accounts payable activities comply with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
Reporting: Assist in the preparation of accounts payable reports and analyses for management.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies, verify invoice approvals, and ensure accurate financial recording.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounts payable operations.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Organizational Skills: Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Team Player: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
