Job Summary:

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, improving, and optimizing production processes in a steel manufacturing environment to ensure efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. In addition, the role involves managing and maintaining production-related data within the SAP system, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with operational goals.

This position bridges engineering process improvement and system-based production management, supporting both operations excellence and data-driven decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Process and Productivity Improvement

  • Conduct time and motion studies, workflow analysis, and process mapping in steel production lines.
  • Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements to enhance production efficiency and throughput.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various manufacturing activities.
  • Lead continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma).
  • Monitor production metrics such as cycle time, yield, and downtime to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to ensure consistent output and minimal rework or scrap.

B. SAP System Management

  • Maintain and update master data in the SAP system related to production, materials, and process flow.
  • Monitor and verify SAP transactions such as material issuance, production orders, confirmations, and stock movements.
  • Generate production and efficiency reports through SAP for management analysis.
  • Train and assist production staff in using SAP functions relevant to their roles.
  • Coordinate with IT and SAP consultants for troubleshooting, system updates, or process automation improvements.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with company reporting standards.

C. Planning and Coordination

  • Support production planning and scheduling through SAP data and capacity analysis.
  • Work closely with procurement and inventory teams to ensure material availability based on production requirements.
  • Assist in resource allocation and manpower planning based on operational targets.

D. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare process documentation, performance reports, and efficiency analysis.
  • Present findings and recommendations to management for process optimization.
  • Maintain accurate production and system records in compliance with company and audit requirements

E. Other Tasks

  • Perform other related duties as needed to support property operations and development projects.

Job Specifications:

Education:

➢     Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or related field with valid PRC License.

Qualifications:

➢ Experience:

○ Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering (preferably steel or heavy industry).

○ Experience in SAP (PP/MM modules) or other ERP systems is required.

➢ Skills:

Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of production planning, process optimization, and workflow design.

Proficiency in SAP (Production Planning, Materials Management modules).

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar data analysis tools.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and coordination skills.

Detail-oriented and organized.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willing to be assigned in both Head Office or Plant Site
  • Open to working extended hours or shifting schedules when necessary.
  • May assist other departments for system-related concerns or improvement initiatives.
