Industrial Engineer

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Production Oversight

• Coordinate and manage daily production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
• Monitor production flow and make adjustments as necessary to ensure efficiency and minimize delays.
• Facilitate daily stand-up meetings with the production team and section supervisors to discuss priorities, challenges, and updates.

B. Quality Check

• Implement and uphold quality assurance protocols throughout the production process
• Conduct random and regular inspections of in-process and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards
• Collaborate with the Quality Controllers and Product Specialist to analyze quality reports and address any recurring issues.

C. Supervision

• Lead, motivate, and develop production employees through effective training programs and performance evaluations.
• Create a positive team environment that encourages collaboration and innovation
• Manage/allocate manpower to ensure adequate coverage for production needs, including scheduling  and overseeing absenteeism

D. Safety Compliance

• Enforce safety measures and conduct regular safety training sessions for all production staff
• Monitor workplace conditions to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions as necessary
• Ensure that production employees comply with the prescribed uniform and follows company procedures and policies

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management, highlighting performance metrics and areas for improvement
• Maintain accurate production records. Document and communicate any production issues or challenges to upper management for timely resolution.

F. Process Improvement

• Collaborate with production teams to identify areas for quality improvement.
• Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformance issues and develop corrective actions.
• Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives
• Participate in cross-functional meetings to address production challenges and share insights on potential improvements.

A. Other Duties:

• Assist in additional tasks as needed to support the team and company objectives.
• Perform other tasks as needed in other areas or sections.
• Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Production Efficiency: The percentage measure of actual production output versus planned output.

Quality Rate: The percentage of products meeting quality standards versus total products produced.

Lead Time: The measure of time taken from the start of production to completion of products.

Reporting Timeliness:  The measure of how quickly the required reports are submitted.

Collaboration:  The feedback from production teams and other departments on the support you provide and overall collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering; Relevant years of experience in a Furniture/Manufacturing company in similar position held will be considered in absence of college or bachelor degree.

Experience:Minimum one (1) year of experience in a production role within a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with quality management system is an advantage.

Skills:Keen attention to details. Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and practices.Familiarity with woodworking machinery and production techniques. Certification in quality management or production management is a plus.

Working Conditions:Primarily be working in a manufacturing environment, which may involve exposure to machinery and varying noise levels with frequent visits to the whole production area.
