Technical Writer

Set up: Hybrid (will report onsite every Monday)

Employment type: contract is for 3 months and subject for renewal

Rate: Salary offer is 60k max depending on experience

Key Responsibilities:

1. Documentation Creation:

2. Develop, write, and maintain detailed user manuals for customers and operators using the gaming platform, including sports betting, e-casino, and gaming products.

3. Create comprehensive back-office manuals for administrators, detailing platform management, reporting tools, and other administrative functions.

4. Write step-by-step guides, FAQs, and troubleshooting documents to assist users with common issues.

5. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

6. Work closely with software developers, product managers, and the customer support team to gather detailed information about new features and platform updates.

7. Participate in product meetings and gather technical requirements to ensure documentation is in line with platform functionality and business objectives.

8. Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure that documentation aligns with regulatory requirements in the gaming industry.

9. Content Management:

10. Organize and manage documentation repositories, ensuring all materials are easy to access and regularly updated.

11. Ensure consistency and accuracy of terminology and style across all manuals and guides, following internal documentation standards.

12. Use version control to track changes in documentation and ensure up-to-date information is available to internal and external users.

13. Platform Testing and Feedback Integration:

14. Test platform features to understand how they work from a user perspective, ensuring accuracy in documentation.

15. Gather feedback from users, operators, and administrators on the effectiveness of manuals and guides, and update content accordingly.

16. Use analytics tools to monitor how documentation is being used and identify areas where additional clarity may be needed.

17. Back Office and User Interfaces:

18. Document detailed instructions for back-office users, including platform configuration, transaction monitoring, reporting, and user management processes.

19. Provide clear guidance on navigating user interfaces (UI) for both front-end customers and back-office operators.

20. Explain complex workflows, system processes, and technical terms in an easy-to-understand manner, tailoring content to the specific audience.

21. Compliance and Regulatory Documentation:

22. Write and update technical documentation to ensure that it meets industry regulations and best practices.

23. Provide clear instructions on regulatory reporting processes, including how to generate and interpret reports required by gambling authorities.

24. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure documentation complies with local and international gaming regulations.

25. Multimedia Documentation:

26. Create or collaborate on multimedia content (e.g., video tutorials, screen recordings, infographics) to complement written documentation and enhance user understanding.

27. Ensure that all visual aids, such as screenshots or diagrams, are current and match the platform's interface.

28. Training and Support Documentation:

29. Develop training materials for internal staff and external users, including onboarding documents, quick-start guides, and reference materials.

30. Support customer service and training teams by providing them with clear documentation to assist in resolving user issues efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the gaming or gambling industry.
• Proven experience in writing user and back-office manuals for complex software platforms.
• Familiarity with gambling platforms, sports betting, e-casino products, or gaming-related technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise documentation.

Key Competencies:

• Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, or similar.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, or other web-based languages is a plus.
• Ability to adapt writing style to suit different audiences, including non-technical users, administrators, and regulatory bodies.
