Job Summary

The Site Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the supervision, monitoring, and coordination of all mechanical works on-site for the MTerra Solar Project. This includes ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations. The role involves close coordination with contractors and other engineering teams to ensure the successful and timely execution of all mechanical-related construction work.

This role is ideally suited for candidates with experience in energy infrastructure projects, especially those in solar power or renewable energy developments.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervision and Quality Assurance

  2. Supervise mechanical construction works on-site, including installation of mechanical components such as mounting structures, trackers, piping, HVAC (if applicable), fire protection systems, and other mechanical auxiliaries.

  3. Ensure all activities conform to approved technical drawings, project specifications, and industry standards.

  4. Monitor contractor performance, workmanship, and progress in accordance with project timelines and milestones.

  5. Technical Review and Reporting

  6. Review mechanical design drawings and installation plans to ensure accuracy and constructability.

  7. Maintain accurate and up-to-date site documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, and progress trackers.

  8. Report deviations, delays, or technical issues to the Site Manager or Project Engineer and recommend corrective actions.

  9. Coordination and Communication

  10. Collaborate closely with electrical, civil, and other engineering disciplines for smooth coordination and interface of works.

  11. Participate in regular site meetings with contractors, EPC representatives, consultants, and the internal project team.

  12. Liaise with suppliers or manufacturers regarding mechanical components or system specifications, as needed.

  13. Safety and Compliance

  14. Ensure that all mechanical works comply with safety and environmental regulations.

  15. Conduct and participate in toolbox meetings and promote HSE best practices on-site.

  16. Identify potential hazards related to mechanical works and proactively implement mitigation measures.

  17. Documentation and Turnover Support

  18. Assist in the preparation of as-built documents, test reports, and mechanical work checklists for project completion and turnover.

  19. Support commissioning and start-up activities as needed.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Licensed Mechanical Engineer (PRC)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical construction, preferably in power generation, renewable energy, or utility-scale infrastructure projects
  • Experience in solar power plant construction or similar energy-related projects is a strong advantage
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and construction methodologies, including mechanical installation standards, welding, and QA/QC practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with AutoCAD or construction management tools is a plus
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills
  • Willing to be assigned full-time on-site in Gapan, Nueva Ecija for the duration of the project
