Job Summary

The Site Electrical Engineer will play a key role in supervising and monitoring the electrical works associated with the construction of the MTerra Solar Project. The engineer will ensure that all electrical installations are carried out in accordance with approved designs, industry standards, and safety regulations. This position requires close coordination with EPC contractors, design teams, and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project execution.

This role is best suited for candidates with experience in solar power generation, renewable energy, or utility-scale electrical infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervision and Quality Assurance

  2. Supervise all on-site electrical works including cable laying, grounding systems, switchgear, inverters, transformers, SCADA, and grid interconnection components.

  3. Ensure that all electrical installations conform to approved plans, specifications, and relevant standards (e.g., PEC, IEC, IEEE).

  4. Monitor contractor performance and verify the quality of workmanship throughout all phases of the electrical installation.

  5. Technical Review and Reporting

  6. Review and validate electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation plans for accuracy and feasibility.

  7. Maintain accurate records of daily site activities, inspections, work progress, and issues encountered.

  8. Identify non-conformances or discrepancies and provide technical recommendations for corrective actions.

  9. Coordination and Communication

  10. Work closely with civil, mechanical, and other engineering teams to ensure coordinated implementation across disciplines.

  11. Attend site coordination meetings with contractors, EPC teams, consultants, and internal stakeholders.

  12. Liaise with suppliers or manufacturers when required to resolve technical or delivery issues related to electrical equipment.

  13. Safety and Compliance

  14. Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards and the company's health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.

  15. Participate in toolbox meetings, safety inspections, and risk assessments related to electrical work.

  16. Proactively identify and mitigate electrical safety hazards on-site.

  17. Testing, Commissioning, and Turnover Support

  18. Assist in pre-commissioning, testing, and energization activities of electrical systems and components.

  19. Participate in system walkthroughs, punch listing, and documentation of test results for project completion and handover.
  20. Support the turnover of electrical systems to the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer (PRC)
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical construction, preferably in renewable energy, solar farms, or power generation projects
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems used in utility-scale solar projects, including DC/AC systems, inverters, transformers, and grid integration
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with AutoCAD, ETAP, or electrical design software is an advantage
  • Excellent leadership, coordination, and technical problem-solving skills
  • Willing to be assigned full-time on-site in Gapan, Nueva Ecija for the duration of the project
