Position Summary
The Café Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily front-of-house operations, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth workflow, and adherence to company standards. This role supervises service staff, coordinates with the kitchen, monitors quality, and ensures guests enjoy a consistent and memorable café experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and lead front-of-house staff (servers, baristas, cashiers, and hosts).
• Ensure excellent customer service and promptly resolve complaints or concerns.
• Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, staff schedules, and shift assignments.
• Monitor service quality, product presentation, and cleanliness of the café.
• Train, guide, and support staff in maintaining café standards.
• Handle cashiering, POS operations, and daily sales reconciliation.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate service.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, assist in ordering, and prevent shortages.
• Enforce food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Assist management in implementing promotions, events, and new initiatives.
• Prepare reports on staff performance, sales, and operations.
Additional Responsibility (SOP Management)
• Review and update existing SOPs for front-of-house operations to improve efficiency and service quality.
• Develop and enhance new procedures aligned with company standards and customer needs.
• Ensure clear communication and training of updated SOPs to all staff.
• Monitor staff compliance and enforce proper implementation of SOPs during daily operations.
• Provide feedback to management on effectiveness of SOP changes and recommend improvements.
Additional Skill Requirement
• Strong knowledge of process improvement and SOP development.
• Ability to analyze workflow and identify areas for operational enhancement.
• Skilled in training and implementation to ensure staff follow new procedures.
• Detail-oriented with consistency in enforcing standards.
